A few years ago I was called to be the Primary Secretary. What a great calling! I got to work interact with all of the adorable children but my main job was behind the scenes. It was the end of the year and I wanted to spice things up for the next year. My sister in law’s ward had been passing out “Primary Mail” and she said it was a great success. The person who had given a talk that day got to be the Postman and deliver the mail at the end of Sharing Time. I decided this was it, and with the approval of my President I went for it. First I went to Archiver’s Scrapbook store and purchased a chip board mailbox. I decorated it with red, yellow and blue paper (Primary colors). Then it was time to make the mail. I wanted an old Airmail look. I got busy on Microsoft Publisher and this was my outcome:
I made it printable with four mail cards on each page. I went to Sam’s Club and bought a package of their Avery postcards. These are an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of card stock with perforated postcards. Just print the pdf, fold and tear. If you have a small budget, you can print them on card stock or paper and cut with a paper cutter. I recommend a heavy weight paper like card stock though, just turns out nicer.
There is a seperate pdf for each Talk, Scripture, Prayer and Article of Faith:

Fill out the blanks on the mail card, fold it in half and place a sticker to hold it shut. In my constant quest to be more efficient, I would print off enough cards for the entire year and keep them in our closet. Our Primary children LOVED it! It has been 3 years (and two secretaries later) of Primary Mail and it is still going strong! I hope it works in your Primary.
{note: If you would like to customize these Primary Mail cards AND you have Microsoft Publisher, I’d be happy to e-mail you a copy of the workable pub doc.}
EXTRA: Stamps
When I clicked on talk link it kept bringing up the scripture card. We have done the mailbox idea for the last year. Our children love it. I just needed a new card idea. Thanks
Thanks for letting me know Joy, I’m new to all of this. The link is fixed. I hope they work well for you. Check back again for more Primay helps.
I would love to use these and tweak them a bit…like typing in the theme or scripture so I don’t have to write them by hand. Could you email me the document?
Thanks you!! Great idea!!!!
Rachael, They should be in your inbox! Thanks and good luck.
I would love the document so I can customize for my ward. Thank you for your hard work and willingness to share with all of us.
